How is Elitone used?
Elitone is used at your convenience in the privacy of your home. A GelPad is placed on your perineal (pubic) area and then connected to a tiny controller. After putting on your clothes, clip the controller to your waistband, and press a button to start the treatment. During treatment, you can walk around and continue your daily routine. After 20 minutes of treatment, the controller turns off automatically.

Does staff need to manage the device?
No. Elitone is intended as an at-home therapy, individual use, for appropriate users. In senior living, the best fit is residents who can self-manage or have suitable support. It was designed to be simple to use.
Is this for independent living or assisted living?
Best fit is independent living, CCRC/life plan communities, active senior living, and higher-functioning assisted living residents who can self-manage.
Does the community need to buy inventory?
No. Communities can start by reviewing the resource, sharing a webpage, or offering education. Direct purchase and reimbursement education may be available depending on the resident.
Can residents use Original Medicare?
Some residents with Original Medicare may be able to pursue coverage when requirements are met. Typically this involves a prescription and documentation. Learn more.
Can the community buy wholesale and resell?
Possibly, but this needs to be evaluated carefully. If Medicare billing or DMEPOS supplier activity is involved, supplier rules may apply. We can discuss the right partnership model.

Elitone treats bladder leakage. Bladder leakage and urinary symptoms can contribute to issues senior living teams care about, including urgency, nighttime bathroom trips, social withdrawal, hygiene concerns, fall-risk moments, and staff burden. Elitone may help reduce one driver of those issues for appropriate residents.
Are there any side effects?
Elitone is FDA-cleared as a treatment for stress urinary incontinence in women, and Elitone URGE for urge incontinence. This means that it was found to be both safe and effective. There are almost no side effects, unlike medications for incontinence, and it is external so risk of infection is non-existent. However, for the few that do, the most common side effects are skin irritation, which most often occur when the device is used more than the recommended amount or the skin is dry, and are addressed by taking a few days off from treatment.

How long does it take?
Treatment sessions are 20 minutes. Additionally, this can be placed under clothes while the user is active doing other things, so it does not take up time.
Do I need a prescription?
Elitone® is FDA-cleared for use without a prescription. However, if insurance is to be used, a prescription will likely be needed.
