Elitone + McKesson
Pharmacy Program
Independent pharmacies are generating incremental revenue by offering their patients incontinence treatments rather than incontinence managment.
Independent pharmacies are generating incremental revenue by offering their patients incontinence treatments rather than incontinence managment.
Many pharmacy customers already manage leaks, urgency, or post-prostate-surgery leakage with pads, prescriptions, or lifestyle changes, but may not know about non-drug, at-home treatment options.
The Elitone family of products includes FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatments for:
McKesson pharmacies can support customers through a simple 3-step process: identify interested patients, obtain the Rx when insurance billing is needed, and order/process through McKesson.
Use Elidah-provided posters, bag stuffers, and privacy tear-off sheets to help customers self-identify and ask about bladder control treatment options in a discreet, comfortable way.
How do customers learn about Elitone in the pharmacy?
Elidah provides simple in-store materials, including counter posters, aisle posters, privacy tear-off sheets, and bag stuffers. These materials help customers self-identify and ask about Elitone in a discreet, comfortable way.
Does the pharmacy need to screen or diagnose customers?
No. The pharmacy does not need to diagnose incontinence or determine which product is clinically appropriate. The goal is simply to make customers aware that non-drug, at-home treatment options exist and help interested customers take the next step.
What types of customers may be interested?
Customers may include women managing leaks, urgency, or frequent bathroom trips; men recovering from prostate surgery; or caregivers purchasing products for a spouse or parent. Some may already buy protection products, use OAB medications, or ask about bladder control.
Can the pharmacy start the conversation directly?
Yes, when appropriate. Some pharmacies may prefer to let customers self-identify through posters and tear-off sheets, while more proactive pharmacies may choose to privately mention Elitone to customers who ask about bladder control or related products.
For customers using insurance, the pharmacy can contact the patient’s clinician and request a prescription using Elidah’s template Detailed Written Order.
When is a prescription needed?
A prescription is needed when the pharmacy is billing insurance. Cash-pay customers do not need a prescription.
Who can write the prescription?
The prescription may come from the patient’s primary care physician, gynecologist, urogynecologist, or urologist, depending on who manages their bladder symptoms, pelvic health, or post-surgical care.
How does the pharmacy request the Rx?
With the patient’s permission, the pharmacy can contact the clinician’s office and share Elidah’s template Detailed Written Order. The form is available at elitone.com/dwo/.
What information is included in the DWO?
The template DWO includes diagnosis checkboxes and a section for documenting medical necessity. It is based on Medicare documentation requirements and is designed to help the provider supply the information typically needed for insurance billing.
Once the Rx and documentation are complete, the pharmacy bills the payer and orders the appropriate Elitone product through the McKesson Medical Supplies catalog. Cash-pay customers can purchase without an Rx.
How does the pharmacy order Elitone?
Pharmacies order through the McKesson Medical Supplies catalog. Search “Elitone” to view the full family of products: Elitone, Elitone URGE, and Elitone for Men.
What billing code is used for insurance?
Elitone is billed using HCPCS code E0740-RR, a DME capped rental code. Pharmacies bill monthly for up to 13 months, according to payer requirements.
What coverage is available?
All Elitone products are covered by Original Medicare when documentation requirements are met. Medicaid covers Elitone in 22 states. Private payer coverage varies, but in-network billing commonly receives a positive coverage decision.
Does the pharmacy need to carry inventory?
McKesson has negotiated a favorable minimum order quantity of 3 units. Elidah recommends stocking one each of Elitone, Elitone URGE, and Elitone for Men. Product is drop-shipped from Elidah’s headquarters in Connecticut to the pharmacy for quick fulfillment.
